"Widows" is the story of four women who have never met until the death of their husbands. Dolly Rawlins (Mercedes Ruehl), Linda Pirelli (Rosie Perez), Shirely Heller (Brooke Shields) and Bella (N'Bushe Wright) were all widowed when their husbands were simultaneously killed while stealing a painting from a museum. The four widows ban together after commiserating about their deceased husbands to find the killer and continue with the heist of stealing the painting. Their justification is that is now all based on principal to continue where their men had left off. Bella has discovered from casing the museum that Bill, the Security Guard () was in on the heist just the nature of his involvement is left up in the air.
